Q. Discuss the role of South India in the Non co-operation movement?

Ans.

Non-co-operation movement started by Mahatama Gandhi soon spread throughout the country. South India did not lag behind. Thiruvika supported a strike at the Buckingham and Carnatic Textile Mills which continued for four months. In Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, people picketed the shops where foreign goods were sold. Chakarvarty Raja Gopalachari was the most prominent leader of this movement. In Andhra Pradesh, Konda Venkatapayya, T. Parakasam. P. Sitaramayya took a very active part in the non-cooperation movement.
