Q. What factors helped the British to suppress the risings during 1767-1856?

Ans.

In the first place, the early risings were local in nature. It was easy to suppress them. Secondly, the rebels were not well-organised. They could not fight against Company's powerful forces. Thirdly, the mutineers were neither well-equipped nor well-trained. On the other hand, the British had a large and powerful army. Lastly, the British had vast resources in the form of arms, ammunition and money.
