Q. Describe the growth of modern sciences in India.?

Ans.

In the modern times, efforts are being made to develop mterest of the people in the study and research ' of sciences. In 1876, Mahendar Lai shankar founded the "Indian Association for the cultivation of Science". This association encouraged the study of science in the country. The Indian Science Congress Association  was established in the 1920s. It provided a platform for the eminent scientists to meet and exchange their views.

Our country has produced great scholars in Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Chemistry,Medicine etc. Many Indian scientists received world wide recognition for their researches. H. V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize for his contribution to Physics. Sir Jagdish Chander Bose did valuable research in Botany. C. V. Ramanujam was a great mathematician. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam is a notable Physicist. S. Visverayya made notable contribution in the fields of technology, hydro-electric power and building of dams.
