Q.Discuss the methods the British Government adopted to crush the anti-Simon movement ?

Ans.

The government resorted to suppress the people with an iron hand. At Lahore, the police mercilessly lathi charged at peaceful boycott procession in which Lala Lajpat Rai received lathi blows. He died of injuries after a month in November 1928 A.D. At Lucknow, Pandit Jawahar Lai Nehru and Pandit-Govind Vallabh Panth also received injuries in an assault while leading a procession. The commission, however, continued its work and its report formed the basis of the Government of India Act 1935 A.D.
