Q.Why did the British Government appoint the Simon Commissioin ?

Ans.

After 1920 A.D., the revolutionary leaders had increased terrorist activities to achieve freedom for the country. The government felt the need of a fresh review of the political situation in India. In 1927 A.D. it appointed a Commission under Sir Simon to review the progress made by the Indians after passing of the Reform Act of 1919. It was also to recommend measures for further Constitutional reforms in the country.
