Q.What did the Nehru Committee Report stand for ?

Ans.

In 1928, the leading Indian Political Parties tried to lay down a common political programme. In February 1928, an All- Parties Conference appointed a committee under Pt. Moti Lai Nehru to discuss the question of framing a new constitution for India. The Committee prepared-a plan which laid down Dominion Status as India's political objective. It also laid stress on fundamental rights, adult franchise, independent Judiciary and linguistic reorganisation of provinces. The British Government, however, did not accept the report of the Committee. It refused to grant self-government to India within the British Empire.
