Q. Disniss the role of the Muslims in the Non-co-operation movement?

Ans.

At first, the Muslims were the supporters of the British government in India. But after the 1st world war Turkey was dismembered. It annoyed the Indian Muslims. Similarly the abolition of Khilafat, the highest religious seat of the Muslims roused the anger of the Muslim community. They turned towards the Congress and began supporting the Non-Cooperation movement started by Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji also took advantage of the situation and he supported the Khilafat movement of the Muslims. This brought the Hindus and Muslims nearer.
