Role of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
He was a great scholar and a Bengali novel-writer. He wrote his famous' book Anand Math. It contains the hymn Bande Matram which had been the National anthem of India upto 1947. It is now the National Song of India. During the freedom movement from 1905-47 it was on the lips on the patriotic sons of India and thousands of them suffered lathi blows of the British Police or mounted the scaffold with Bande Matram on their lips.

Swami Dayanand occupies a high place among the social reformers and political thinkers of India. He gave the slogan of Swaraj or "India for Indians." He said that no foreign govt. howsoever good can be equal to self-government. He was the first to give the lesson of Swadeshi to the Indians. It was later followed by the national leaders like Lokmanaya Tilak and Mahatma Gandhi.
